Ghana, Africa Mission Trip

Donation protected
What is the purpose of our life? This question has become very real to me this year. Since my mom passed away in October, my life has changed. I look at life differently now. I don't want my life to be about getting; I want it to be about giving and loving. I have an opportunity to take a temporary leave of absence from work to serve on the mission field. God has been prompting me to make changes in my life which all lead me to step out in faith and go on a new adventure. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:3, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become like little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." God is my Father and He is asking me to join Him on a journey. I am going to help teach at a school in Ghana, Africa from September 2014-December 2014. The name of the school is Mephibosheth and it houses children with disabilities. My mother wanted to go to this school to help the children there. The Lord had different plans for her. There are 53 children who attend this school, their ages range from 6-22 years old and they have disabilities that range from: Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Polio and some have physical and cognitive issues caused by high fever. The average education in Ghana is 6th grade. After the children finish their studies in Ghana, they will learn a trade so that they will not be forced to beg. These are God's children and they have a name and a purpose. The country of Ghana is a half Muslim, half Christian country. Romans 10:13 says, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent?" I need to raise around $4,000 for this trip. This will include my plane ticket to Ghana, room/board/food, Malaria pills, shots that I need before I go to Ghana, international health insurance, Visa fees and money for traveling in Ghana. I would also love to be able to support an orphanage called Hearts of the Father while I'm there by blessing them with food that they need. The website for the orphanage that I will be bringing food to is Heartsofthefather.org. The website for the school that I will be working at is: http://www.mephiboshethinghana.org/. Thank you for your support and prayer. I would urge you to step out in faith in your life. What is God calling you to do? Take a step in faith and do it. You will forever be changed.
