Aide's New Kidney

Aide got her new kidney! As many of you know Aide received her new kidney January 10th! Her surgery went great, her new kidney started working right away, and she was released in record time. She is now living in Portland along with her parents until they release her to go home, which will be at least a month from her surgery date. She has to go to multiple appointments a week where they do her labs that check all of her levels to make sure her kidney is functioning properly and all of her medications are working how they should be. She got off to a rocky start after she was released and had to be admitted back into the hospital for a couple of days as they straightened out her medications. She has to take 20+ pills a day and some of them take a big toll on her body and sometimes she doesn't feel very well.
The family's expenses are growing and growing as her family takes time off of work to care for her. We were also told that her insurance would help cover her lodging costs but have found that they do not in her situation. We appreciate everyone's previous donations as they have helped tremendously! Unfortunately, the family is still needing additional help to get through this time. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and supporting our Aide girl!
