Weston's Journey to Health

Donation protected

This our little angel Weston Uranker, at 22 weeks pregnant we took the precaution of getting a amniocentesis to see if our son had a X-linked immunodeficiency known as hyper IGM Syndrome. The same disease that at the age of 14 took my brother's life. At 26 weeks we found out that he did have the disease. The rest of my pregnancy was easy except for the anticipation of my son being born with this unfortunate hereditary disease. We took all the necessary precautions to prepare for the road that lies ahead. On January 5th 2014 god blessed us with the birth of our son, since the age of 1 month old he has been receiving immunoglobin infusions, which is just a temporary fix. In order to help cure him of this disease he must undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant. He will undergo this procedure on July 7th 2014 at the age of 6 months old. It is going to be a rough 6-8 weeks that he will be in the hospital and that's only if everything goes as planned. He will go through 10 days of chemo therapy then the transplant will begin. Unfortunately our insurance only covers 80% of the bone marrow transplant he needs to survive. So we are responsible for 20% of the cost. Since Weston's medical appointments currently prevent me from working and the looming expenses after insurance pays we are asking for any help available in facing what seems like insurmountable medical expenses. First and foremost we ask for your thoughts and prayers for a successful treatment for Weston. In addition if you are able to financially help with his treatment, we will be forever grateful thankful and humbled by your love and generosity
