Jenny and Chris were married in Georgia in 2005. Six months after their marriage, Jenny was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. After a year of chemo and radiation, Jenny was able to win her fight against this terrible disease. Unfortunately, the cancer took away her body's ability to have children. Shortly after her recovery, she and Chris moved to Florida. Jenny and Chris made the decision to adopt. They were blessed with a family of four children that came from foster care right here in Palm Beach County. Two years later, they were blessed with a fifth child from Palm Beach County Foster Care. As with any family, they've gone through struggles from time to time like job loss, health issues, and special needs care for children with abusive histories. As you can imagine, this is a story in and of itself, but now she is facing an additional battle.
A SECOND CANCER DIAGNOSIS UNRELATED TO THE FIRST!
Doctors say Jenny has a better chance being struck by lightning than having two different cancers in two different places in her body. On March 10, 2014 Jenny started treatment for cancer once again. She has gone through chemo and radiation to shrink the tumor. The next step is surgery which she will undergo in early June, followed by more chemo and radiation.
Fortunately, most medical expenses are covered by insurance, but even good insurance has its limits. The bills are already starting to pile up and Jenny is only a third of the way through her treatments.
Raising five children would be a challenge for anyone, but raising five children with special needs due to an abusive past, in addition to fighting cancer, is a fight that no one should have to face. Jenny and Chris have wonderful emotional support through their church and friends, but it's the financial support that is much needed.
If you would like to help them out, we are asking for a donation of any amount to help offset the medical bills that this terrible disease is mounting on Chris, Jenny, and their family. They will be so grateful for this and very appreciative of the support we show them.
