You are most likely reading this because you have been involved in our lives in some way, shape, or form and you mean something to us.
We are reaching out to you during a very trying time in our lives.
Earlier this year Sarah/Yoonji’s mother was diagnosed with early stage 3 Invasive Adenocarcinoma also known as Colon Rectum Cancer. The cancer has entered the wall but we were able to find out through the CAT Scan that it has not metastasized to the rest of the body, thankfully. Thus, this form of cancer is very curable!
With this diagnosis comes several stages of treatment. The treatment begins with 6 weeks of radiation therapy with concurrent low-dose chemotherapy, which went relatively smoothly. The next step in treatment is surgery on May 28 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti followed with more chemotherapy.
With treatment, come inevitable high medical costs. They have been able to cover many medical costs to date. However with the insurance not covering certain medications (ie. single chemo pill is worth ~$2000) and high cost of in-patient care, the financial pressure is mounting.
