The Tim Greenwood Surgical Lounge

Donation protected
We are raising funds for a long term surgery waiting room in honor of my husband Tim Greenwood. Tim was the first domino liver transplant in Missouri. He received a donor liver and then gave his liver to another man who also had a rare genetic disease. The transplant occurred at SLU Hospital.

The waiting room for transplant families is the standard surgical room which only has what I call "cafeteria chairs". It was a very uncomfortable place to wait for 12 hours. The important thing is that the transplant was successful, but when Tim succumbed to pneumonia several months later I knew I wanted to honor him.

Tim took care of everyone he knew, and put others needs first. For this reason I knew that a waiting room that would make families more comfortable would be the perfect way to honor Tim's memory. We have the budget from the SLU Hospital Administration and we are ready to implement it as soon as the funds are raised. This is the first step.

The new waiting area will include 2 renovated rooms that are currently on the campus of the hospital. Comfortable couches and chairs along with some other amenities are planned (details and photos of these features will be posted as updates). The most important improvement is cell phone communication between families and the surgery room, which will allow freedom and mobility for families waiting for updates. Please dont hesistate to email me with any specific questions that you have.

If you have a few bucks to spare for one of the greatest guys to ever exist, they will be put to good use.
