This fall I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the top echelon of climbing competitions and compete in part of the IFSC Lead World Cup. I will participate in the following events.

October 18th & 19th Wujiang, China
October 25th & 26th Inzai, Japan
Not only will this be a great experience in competition but it will also be a great cultural experience for me and my family. My wife Melanie and my son Eli will both go with me to support me in my endeavor. Melanie has always believed that I could do great things in the sport of climbing and has always been my biggest supporter and fan. As an aspiring youth coach as well, she wouldn't miss an educational opportunity like this for the world.
Among other things, the the opportunity to compete on these routes would help give me a little more insight into the thought process of the type of movement generally set for IFSC Events. This would allow me to help better train the US Youth Team in their preparation for the IFSC Youth world Championships for years to come. With out first hand experience, the information I am trying to give in training is purely speculative and I believe that trying to gain first hand experience is the only true way to pass along accurate information to competitive youth climbers of America.
If you choose to support me in making this dream a reality, I can assure you that every bit of this money will go directly to making this trip as successful as it can be. If you know me personally, you know that when I have an event to train for, I train very, very hard both physically and mentally to try to accomplish my goals.
