Sarah McMurray's Sarcoma Warrior fund

Sarah is an artist, an entrepreneur, a writer, and a community builder. Her passions include photography, art, yoga, Thai food, travel, and funny You tube videos of cats (who doesn't love cats these days?). Connecting with people is one of her greatest joys and passions. She also works in healthcare connecting people with community resources and supporting those in need. A few short weeks before her 31st birthday, Sarah had emergency, life-saving surgery to remove a football-sized mass from her abdomen that had ruptured causing internal bleeding. After a week in the hospital and 6 weeks unpaid medical leave recovering at home while pathology tests that were sent from our local hospital to Oregon Health Sciences University and the Mayo Clinic, she received a diagnosis of undifferentiated sarcoma. Sarcomas occur in only 1% of adults, with roughly 1300-1500 cases in the US per year. Of those cases there are 100 subtypes of this cancer, but Sarah's is still undifferentiated, meaning that they cannot tell where it originated yet. This will be a huge fight as Sarah began her first round of doxorubicin chemotherapy on Friday, May 9, 2014. She will have three doses every 21 days before returning to OHSU's Sarcoma Center to see the remaining tumors in her belly shrunk, or if the plan needs to change. You can follow Sarah's courageous journey, because as a community builder and writer, she decided to blog about it here: http://love-write-be.blogspot.com/  Very few young adults (meaning those under 40) face sarcoma, and she wants to leave a positive record that tells the truth and paints hope for also face cancer of any kind. She would be thrilled to have your warm thoughts and prayers as she believes her body can and will heal completely through medicine, diet, and prayers. Any donation will both help with the endless medical expenses and encourage Sarah in her fight. She is not alone in this, but your prayers and donations help her feel the strength of her tribe.
