</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Darin saßen 11 winzige Welpen, wahrscheinlich gerade einmal vier bis sechs Wochen alt.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Zum Glück waren alle Tests negativ.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
Unser Team kastriert durchschnittlich etwa 50 Hunde und Katzen pro Woche, damit möglichst wenige ungewollte Würfe überhaupt erst in solchen Situationen enden.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>

<div>
 Around noon today, one of our visitors came back to our shelter and told us we needed to come with him. He had found some puppies outside by the road.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We followed him down our driveway and a short distance along the main road. Before we could even see the puppies, we could hear them.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Loud crying coming from two plastic crates sitting in the sun by the side of the road.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Inside were 11 tiny puppies, probably only around four to six weeks old.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Someone had left them there, only about 20 meters from the end of our driveway, and simply disappeared.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We immediately got them out of the sun and brought them to the entrance of our shelter. They were already getting quite hot. While we got a first look at their condition, we coordinated with our vet team on how to safely proceed.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 A short while later, we brought them into our treatment room, where Dr. Sith examined all of them. Our biggest concern was parvovirus, a highly contagious disease that can be especially dangerous for young puppies. In a shelter with several hundred dogs, it is something we have to take extremely seriously.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Thankfully, all of their tests were negative.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The puppies were dewormed, treated for ticks and fleas and given puppy food and goat milk. Then we had to figure out where we could suddenly put 11 additional puppies.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our shelter is full, so we moved two dogs from our puppy house to our other location in Chaweng to make room. And by a lucky coincidence, two visitors had donated new dog beds to us today, which we could immediately use for the puppies.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Then we got some really good news: two of the puppies were adopted that same day by a friend of one of our Thai staff members.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 So of the 11 puppies we found in two plastic crates around noon, nine remained with us for their first night.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 For now, they all seem relatively stable. They have eaten, had their goat milk and our volunteers are regularly checking on them. Tonight, they are safe and fed. Now our job is to care for them over the coming weeks and months and hopefully find a home for every one of them.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our shelter is funded exclusively by donations. One can of puppy food costs around 60 Baht (about €1.60) and currently feeds two to three of them for a day. But they are growing quickly, and so will their appetites. On top of that, there is goat milk, vaccinations, deworming, medical care and eventually their spay and neuter procedures.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 That is why we would initially like to raise €2,500 to help us care for them.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 If they find homes within a few weeks, that would of course be the best possible outcome. If it takes months, we will care for them for as long as they need us. If we raise more than we need for these nine puppies, every additional euro will go directly toward caring for the other animals at our shelter.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 What happened today is also another reminder of why spaying and neutering is such an important part of our work. Our team spays and neuters around 50 dogs and cats every week, because preventing unwanted litters is one of the best ways to stop more animals from ending up in situations like this.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 At noon today, 11 little puppies were sitting in two plastic crates in the sun. Tonight, two already have homes and nine are sleeping safe and fed in our puppy house.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 If you would like to help us care for them, we are grateful for every donation. Sharing this GoFundMe also helps us tremendously. ❤️
