2014 World Baton Twirling Championships

My name is Victoria Massey, and I am a Junior at Stony Brook University, pursuing a future career in Spanish and French teaching. While going to school full time, many of you may not know I am also a full time competitive baton twirler. I have devoted the majority of my life to this sport, winning numerous State, Regional, National, and International titles. I recently began a new chapter in my competitive career:
This past March I was selected as one of the members of our national team to represent the United States of America at the 2014 World Baton Twirling Championships in Nottingham, England this summer! This is a huge honor and as most of you know, it takes a ton of money to pay for training, traveling, and preparing for such a pretigious event. Baton twirling gets very little, or almost no recognition from the world of sports, and it indeed takes a lot of skill, technique, endurance, hours upon hours of training, and athletic ability to make something like this happen. It is not every day such an opportunity comes knocking, and I cannot do this alone.
My team and I want nothing less than a GOLD medal this summer. The amount of money something like this can cost is often astronomical, but with YOUR help I can achieve this goal. It would be a great privilege to receive any help towards achieving my goal and dream. Becoming a world contendor and better yet CHAMPION, has been a dream of mine for the last 14 years that I have been twirling, and I never thought I would be able to do it until now.
Please help me in getting one step closer to England this summer! Any little bit helps, and extremely appreciated! THANK YOU!
