As most of you know, in January I had ankle surgery to repair a torn ligament and ruptured tendon. Recovery has been rough, but getting thru it. Used up 3 weeks vacation time and then had to go to a month of only being allowed to work 30 hours a week. Aka there went the rest of my vacation time.
Couple weeks ago when I stood up heard a popping noise from my ankle. Went back in last week and the verdict is my tendon ruptured AGAIN. Dr has only seen this happen in 2 people, myself being the 2nd person.

Due to the severity of the tendon tear/rupture with gapping and retraction, tendon repair needs to be performedThere has been interval full-thickness rupture of the peroneus brevis tendon which is proximally retracted 3 cm above the tip of the fibula. There is tendinopathy in the distal peroneus brevis tendon with normal insertion at the base of the fifth metatarsal. There is at least a 6 cm gap in the peroneus brevis tendon fragments. Thickening and increased signal in the peroneus longus tendon consistent with tendinopathy has developed in theinterval
So long story short, Next monday May 12th I will be having ankle surgery AGAIN but this time with the repair of the ruptured tendon, they will be cutting a wedge out of the heel bone to help prevent happening again. Since I have such a high arch on my foot, it puts extra pressure on the tendons. The heel procedure will alleviate all of that. Which will be awesome if this works. But in the meantime I used all of vacation time on the first surgery in January. So here I sit (most of the time in tears), not knowing what I am going to do. 3 weeks off work is what they are expecting I have to do due to initial recovery from surgery. Which would be fine if I HAD Vacation time to use those first 2 weeks. 3rd week will be Short term disability so I will be able to get 60% of my normal pay. But still not 100%.
If I could put off the surgery I would in order to build up vacation time, but it is being considered 'emergency' surgery so moving me ahead of other patients as it is. He is usually booked 2 months out.
3 Weeks off work is a lot of missed wages. Especially when been doing single mom things for almost 12 years now and have a house payment to make. The one thing that I was most proud of besides my daughter was buying that house. Providing my daughter a home to live in and call ours. The last thing I can do is get behind and end up without it.
So at the end of the day if you can help out or share (anything helps) that would be awesome. I've always hated 'asking' for help - but at the end of the day I have nowhere else to turn to.
