Austin's Medical Expenses

It's time for Austin's Transplant Consultation/Evaluation again.  This will be in Sioux Falls for 3 days.  We are already financially stressed being our household of 6 only has the one income.  So on top of the little assistance we will be getting for these appointments, we have to have a little extra for our children who will be staying home with my mother.

He was accepted last year and placed on the transplant list.  Due to a blood infection after having a catheter placed, fistula difficulties, pneumonia and other illnesses,  transplant team removed him from the list.  Although, very disheartening, we understand that they want him to be in the best health in the event he receives a kidney and will need to have surgery at a calls notice.

Austin's History
When Austin was 13, he became very sick which the doctors could not find a cause.  Being sent home with the diagnosis that he was just a growing teenage boy.  After numerous attempts and being turned away, his health began to deteriorate very quickly.  Finally after getting about 3 different doctors opinions,  one doctor in particular found the cause in his decline in health.  By that time his kidney's were so deteriorated that they could not get a biopsy.  In 1999, Austin was 15, he was put on dialysis and would need a kidney transplant.  Miraculously, his step-father was a perfect match and donated Austin one of his kidneys.  Although his health had improved, he would be on medication for the rest of his life and would certainly need another transplant in the future.  The life a of a donated kidney was about 12 years.  Thankfully, Austin's donated kidney kept him alive for for almost 17 years.  One of Austins greatest dreams was to be a father.  Doctors gave him a 1 in 3 chance of ever having children.  In 2004 his daughter, Makhia Amarie, 1 and 1/2 years old at the time, came into his life.  In September 24th of 2008,  he welcomed his first child, his chaske (first-born son), Atreyu Reign.  Orion Dexter, his second handsome son, was born on April 30th 2010,  Then, Reid Allen Sioux graced us with is presence  August 30th, 2011.  Being a devoted father, working to provide for his family,  his kidney began failing in early 2017.  He was put back on dialysis shortly after and had to quit working as his dialysis schedule was much more important to keep.  There are 5 other people that he is financially responsible for, including himself.  The financial strain on our family of 6 is very great being there is only one income coming into the household.  Being on dialysis, Austin is required to be on a special diet.  It is hard being as we don't qualify for much because of my (Jaimie) income, to put food on the table.  Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!  Pidamaya <3
