Hello, my name is Dalylah Aranda. I graduated as one of the top ten students in my class at EPIC Academy Charter High School located in South Chicago.

I am a first year student at Augustana College, the school of my dreams. Currently I am undecided about my major, however, I am leaning towards Communication Sciences & Disorders with a double major in Spanish. I am a member of Latinos Unidos (LU), a club that celebrates and educates the campus community about the Latino/Hispanic culture. I am also a member of Multiprogramming Board (MPB), a weekly volunteer tutor for refugee students in the Quad Cities, and a staff member at the university's cafeteria. Additionally, I am an active member of the Chi Omega Gamma sorority. My freshman year has truly been an incredible learning experience for me.

As the school year is coming to an end and with tuition increasing, I am struggling to find the financial support to continue to with my education here at Augustana. Although, there were many complications financially, my mother made it possible for me to experience the college life in order to become a more independent young lady. Even though my mother would move mountains to support my dreams, I do not think it will be possible for me to come back to Augustana next year. Financial aid, an on campus job, a summer internship with Chicago Parks District and family contributions still leave a gap in my funding.

I am the first in my family to attend college. Please help me to be the first to graduate from a 4 year university. I would be extremely grateful for any kind of donations. Please also feel free to pass it along!
