Medical Bills

Donation protected
A friend of ours told us about this website a few years ago when we were fund raising for our daughter to go to the National and World's Cheer Championships.  We never did fundraise on this site but I remembered it being available and I have seen it provide many blessings to those in need.
We are asking for any financial help in donations to assist us with my medical bills.
I, Kimberly Todd, was diagnosed with a rare form of lupus 14 years ago.  I was told at the time that the type of lupus I had was very rare and would likely get worse over time but I thought I was invincible.  I lived through on and off bouts of lupus and remission for years and I kept it well maintained.  In early 2011 the disease came out with a vengeance.  In the last three years I have spent more time in hospital bed than in my bed.  The lupus has attacked my skin, my tissues, my brain, my heart, my lungs, my intestines, my gallbladder, my joints and my bones.  It has caused my immune system to be so compromised that in the last 4 months I have gone septic, had blood poisoning, needed 4 blood transfusions, contracted C-Diff (twice), had 3 cases of MRSA, lost much of my bone marrow, depleted my white blood cell count, contracted e-coli in my urinary track and blood stream as well as grow an e-coli mass in my left lung. I developed double pneumonia, and was diagnosed with dozens of blood clots in my legs and pulmonary embolisms in my left lung.  My heart rate has dropped to as low as 35 beats a minute and depending on the day my blood pressure can get as high as 212/154.  The doctors actually refer to me as "Miracle" right now because none of them thought that I would pull through and make it this far.  I have spent the last 8 weeks in the hospital, only having gone outdoors once.  Depression is starting to set in and my family really needs me.
I have been married for 23 years and we have 5 kids.  I think the reason this last episode of lupus was so bad is because my husband was being sent to Afghanistan (he has already served in Saudi, Kuwait, and Iraq) and my two older boys were moving to college all while I was in the middle of a flare up.  Stress kicked in and things spiraled.  This may not be the case but with my husband deploying again and me being responsible for so much was a very overwhelming thing.
I can no longer work which has cut our income down by thousands per year and I have stacks of medical bills.  Even when I meet my deductibles and catastrophic cap I will still have prescriptions and EMSA/Ambulance bills.
I hate asking for any handouts but there is no way out from under this mound of bills for us, especially while I am still in the hospital.
If anyone can make any donations, no matter how large or small, they would truly be a gift from God and so appreciated.  This illness has humbled me in ways that I didn't think were possible.  I give thanks to God just to be alive and to all the friends and family who have already given so much of their time and gifts to us, thank you.  It can never be replaced.
God is good and I believe with all my heart that I will get through this latest hurdle and be home with my family soon.
Anything and everything is appreciated.
Thank you and God Bless,
Kim Todd
