Beth (Cain) Newell-Get Well Fund

"Success in life is not determined by being dealt the good hand.
Success in life is determined by taking the hand that you were dealt and using it to the best of your ability."

The one in the hat is my cousin Beth. She is 45 years old, and I consider her to be one of the most successful people I know. She was raised in Bloomington, Mn by her loving parents Bonnie and Joe Cain. She has one brother Joey, who has watched over her since she was young. Although, she might have been the one doing the watching. Beth is a single mom,  raising three beautifull children, Josh, Zach, and the youngest, Kayla, who will be graduating from high school in June. She has raised them on very basic principles, God, Family, Love, and she has done an outstanding job! Beth, is what the world needs more of. My family has been fortunate to spend most of our lives growing up with the Cains. From summer vacaitons in Nisswa, Minnesota, to the daily get togethers, while our moms were having, "coffee". In all the time I have spent with Beth, I have seen her cry, but I have never seen her frown. I've seen her scared, but have never seen her afraid. I've seen her alone, but never lonely. I've seen her smile and watched a room light up with happiness. She is an inspiration to all she meets, and a friend to those who need one. She has been dealt many different hands and has played them to the best of her ability. In my book, she has won the "World Series of People".

On March 10, 2014 Beth was dealt another hand. One, more difficult then she has played in the past. She was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine cancer, stage 3. She has endured  several rounds of chemotherapy, surgeries, and radiation, with more to come. She does so, still with a cheer in her voice,  God and family in her heart.  On Monday, Beth told me that her doctor asked her how she was doing with the chemo and she told him pretty good, but she sometimes feels dizzy and sick at work. Surprised, he said, "you are not working while doing these treatments are you?" She replied, "I am a single mom I have to work." She will not be able to work for at least 6 months. Cancer takes it's toll on the body, treatments takes it toll on finances.

I have seen her help, but have never seen her ask for help.

I will do that for her. I am asking for your help. There are few of us that have not been touched by this terrible disease. You know the burden is heavy. Let's relieve some of that burden for her. Let's let her concentrate on treating her disease, not the worries of deductables, co-pays, and paying the rent. Some of you don't know Beth. It doesn't matter, you have a wife, daughter, sister, or a mother like her, and they need our help. I am asking you to give up a night out, dinner and drinks, and donate that amount to her. This month, no going to the casino, or buying pull tabs, and donate. Tell you husband or child to forget the Mother's Day flowers, and donate  the money to a mother that really needs it. The church needs your money, but it's ok to skip this week and donate to another cause.  And giving feels a a whole lot better when it's closer to home.

What ever you can give will be greatly appreciated!!

Beth will play this hand, just as she has played her other hands. She will be victorious. And you will know you have helped her out when she needed you the most. Together we can give the gift of financial support, love, and prayers. As there would be no one more grateful for doing so, and no one  more willing to do the same.

We love you Beth! Get well soon!

For those who know me, if we do not raise enough money here, I will be hosting a live fundraiser with ticket prices around $150. I will be  looking for donations for both a live auction and silent auctions and expecting people to bid appropriately. Sounds very expensive. Anyone donating $100 or more by next Friday will be considered "exempt". :)
Thank you all.

And please, "like", "share", "tweet" this to everyone you know as there are powers in numbers and we need the numbers.

P.S. I would like to thank the employees at Haus Specialty Mfg. where Beth works, for donating more than a hundred hours of their vacation time to her. And to her boss, who  has been incredibly supportive and understanding. It is a testament to your company, and with a group like that, I bet business is good.
