MARCO'S BIONIC LEG!!!

Three years ago, we received a phone call.
The phone rang late in the day as we began to pack our things for our big move to Tampa. Scott, a great friend and animal advocate, found a dog chained under a small table in a junkyard, with no shelter, food or water. His skin was infested with parasites, tied to a very short chain in the midst of an incredibly hot Tampa summer. But, his spirit hadn't broken - he was still smiling and happy to meet a friendly face. Scott let us know that he had rescued the dog for us, and would do everything in his power to get him into a better situation until we arrived. At the time the chain was cut, his name was Valiente.
Just a couple days after moving in, we met him and instantly fell in love. The scars of abuse were still present, he needed ongoing treatment, he would need a lot of love. But he was still smiling. We decided to change his name, his collar and bring him into our little family. We didn't quite know it then, but we had just met our best friend.
Marco was quite the pup - FULL of energy, friendly as could be and ready to live each day in his new world to the absolute fullest. As he recovered, he grew...and GREW! Our 9 month old puppy quickly grew to a BIG 3 year old dog, making loads of friends along the way.
And now he needs our help. Marco needs a procedure called a TPLO, which means he has torn a major knee ligament in his right leg. The surgery is not optional, has a long recovery, and is quite costly. We are reaching out to his extended family to help get Marco the surgery he needs to continue leading the life he was born to live.
Above all else, Marco remains happy. He has overcome incredible obstacles so far in his life, and this one is just another (albeit large) bump in the road. Any contributions are incredibly appreciated, and he certainly is thankful for everything. We are excited to keep this big love going, and to get him back to making people smile everywhere he goes!
