Trennor's Big Surgery!

Our son Trennor was born with a rare condition called O.E.I.S. it is also known as Cloacal Exstrophy. It is a rare birth defect that is considered one of the worst compatabile with life. Despite having 15 surgeries and numerous hospital stays Trennor is a sweet boy who loves his life!  We got the date for his next major surgery today, 05/06/2014 that we need to be in NYC on 05/15/2014.  We are excited but nervous.  This surgery will be very long, averaging from 8-12 hours.  They will be breaking his pelvis and stablizing his hips with an external fixator as well as putting his bladder inside of his body.  We also were told that one of the surgeons was not available until the end of the summer.  Rich, Trennor's dad will be taking FLMA to be there for Trennor as well as help take care of his brother Gabe.  The recovery time for this surgery is 6-8 weeks with Trennor immobilized.  The big costs for us for this surgery will be parking, food, and gas.  This will also put us in a hard spot to pay our normal household bills. Any funds raised over the amount we need  will go to covering the costs of travel for follow up and additional medical care for Trennor.  This is just the next step for Trennor! After this surgery he will finally be able to go swimming, go to the beach and take a real bath! Please help us keep Trennor's smile strong and healthy!
