Mike's treatments at the hospital entail the intake of new blood units, as his condition makes her healthy-red-blood-cells deficient. As those are the cells responsible for carrying oxygen to the entire body, Mike shows symptoms such as: paleness, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, yellowing of the eyes and skin, attacks of abdominal pain, poor eyesight, problems, to name a few.
With those symptoms added to his constant trips to the hospital for treatments, or even emergency episodes when he gets critically ill.
