John's Medical Bills

Donation protected
John lost his battle with cancer on 11/13/2017 and while this was the end, lets start at the beginning. In November of 2014 John had a series of mini heart attacks and had to have open heart triple bypass surgery. He had 41 years on with the railroad and wasn't even thinking about retirement but at this point he didn't really have a choice. In September 2015 John was taken by ambulance to Harbour Hospital Center, he was vomitting blood due to internal bleeding that required a series of procedures over the next several months. At this time it was determined John had liver cancer. In January 2016 John took another ambulance ride, this time to BeeBee Medical Healthcare Center in Delaware, again for internal bleeding and required another procedure.  John was referred to Johns Hopkins Hospital to see if he was a candidate for a liver transplant. Hopkins proceeded to run regular blood tests and MRI's to see if he was an eligible candidate. In December 2016 John got the news he was eligible and was place on the transplant list. December 30th 2016 John recieved his liver transplant. Life was good. In August 2017, during a routine scan, John was informed he now had metastatic liver cancer in his lungs and sternum. Unable to take chemo due to his liver transplant John was given an alternate theraputic drug that also compromised his immune system. John had a severe reaction to this medication and was unable to take it. With his immune system now weak John developed pneumonia. John fought hard for two months before succumbing to the infection. His wife Charmaine is now faced with all of the medical bills.
