Who: My former student, Carolina Sandoval, reached out to tell me she was accepted into this amazing art program, but she needs a little help with the funding in order to go.
I've known her since 5th grade (she is now in High School). Not only is she talented, but she has always worked extremlely hard to pursue her goals in the arts! I admire her perserverance and passion and hope there is an opportunity for her to attend this program. Program: California College of the arts (CCA) Pre college summer program
Studying: Stop Motion Animation
Why I’m studying this:
I want to do this stop motion animation program because I feel this would bring to life my stylized work and comic book stories I am currently working on. I specifically am interested in CCA’s Pre-College program because I feel this program will give me the edge I want when it comes to creating animations professionally. I am currently experimenting with animation by making stop motion animation shorts. I have not yet had the opportunity to create 2D or 3D animations with the proper software or equipment. I feel that I can grow even more with this pre-college program because I will be with instructors and students to give me feedback on what I can do to make my work better. I am interested in taking my explorations and experimentation's with animation even further. I am also very interested in this pre-college program because it is far outside of my home and this is a great chance to meet new people, travel and explore on my own, and get hands-on experience with the possibilities that college holds for me.
Amount I need: 1,800 dollars
I need this amount of money to be able to pay for in housing, housing refundable damage deposit and meal plan which sadly the pre college can not provide financial assistance with and I as well don’t want my family to suffer to much out of pocket since we are currently struggling money wise
This amount must be sent in by May 8th.
