My mother’s funeral

Donation protected

On October 28th, we lost a wonderful person. My mother Shannen. I am looking to seek help to pay for her funeral expenses as we found out she did not have life insurance and honestly anything helps.

my mom was a wonderful person and shehad touch so many peoples lives. She hada wonderful sense of humor and I will miss her so very much.

Her obituary:

The world lost a brilliant, humorous and unique wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend when Shannen Elizabeth Jensen-Akhmouch passed away on October 28, 2020 at her home in Houston, Texas. Shannen was born May 25, 1973 in Salt Lake City, the oldest of four daughters born to Carl and LuDean Jensen. She grew up in Sugarhouse, graduated from Highland High School and attended LDS Business College. She married Kevin Joseph Hancock in 1993 and had two children from this marriage; daughter Haylee Elizabeth and son, Adam Dale Hancock. Although Shannen and Kevin divorced, they remained friends. N In 2009, Shannen married Abdel Akhmouch in Salt Lake City. Two years ago, Shannen’s birth daughter, Olivia discovered her biological roots and another limb was added to the Jensen family tree.

Shannen had a strong work ethic; she worked for United Airlines for over 20 years, until COVID-19 paralyzed the airline industry and she chose to take early retirement. Often referred to as a walking encyclopedia, she was a voracious reader and always provided interesting conversations over the phone or over a gourmet dinner she had prepared. Whether embarking on an adventure visiting the pyramids of Egypt on a camel, or the Casa Blanca Café in Morocco, Shannen loved to travel until orthopedic surgeries along with Rheumatoid Arthritis, curtailed her activities. She loved her children and was so thrilled to become a grandmother when Haylee had her son. Good times.

Shannen is survived by her husband, Abdel, her daughter Haylee (Shannon) Richey: son, Adam; her birth daughter, Olivia De St. Aubin, and her grandson, Clyde Porter Richey. She is also survived by her parents, sisters, Heather (Ed) Calma: Michelle; Stephanie (Ian) Bobbermin and her grandmother, Joyce Jensen. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sam and Lucille Crowford and her paternal grandfather, Frank West Jensen. To say that she will be missed is an understatement. We’re grateful she is free of pain and take comfort in the knowledge that we will be together again.
