Who am I?
Hi, my name is Stephanie Mercado and I'm a first-generation college student enrolled to attend CSU Monterey Bay this Fall. I have worked very hard over the last four years to pursue my passion of becoming a veterinarian. I am also excited to discover all of the new opportunities my experience at CSU Monterey Bay will offer.
Apart from my academic studies, I enjoy playing soccer and doing everything I can to support my mother. I like to take my younger sister on bike rides and when I can help my mother at work. My family means to the world to me.
Why am I making this campaign?
After four years of hard work, dedication, and focus I discovered that my Financial Aid package left me with a gap. Due to the immigration status of my mother, we did not discover this gap until days before I was ready to move into the dorms.
This GoFundMe will give me the opportunity to continue my college education; something that I never saw as a possibility because it would be a heavy financial burden on my family. As a child raised by a single mother, I worked very hard to take advantage of every opportunity presented to me to lessen this burden. With days left before I am set to begin this journey, I now ask for YOUR support.
Any and all contributions help ensure that my dream of graduating with my bachelor's degree and giving back to my family, my school, and my community.
