Support a family in need

Update: Robert is going back in for emergency surgery today. He's has a few set backs since the last surgery, and they are going to try and relieve the pressure and fluid build up that's pushing his brain into the right side of his skull. Hopefully this will allow him to communicate again or maybe even recognize me. Need to raise the goal due to increased costs for care and rehabilitation.
The last few years have not been kind to this family. In 2012, just a few months after giving birth to their son, Melony was hospitalized with a large blood clot in her lung. In 2015 she was diagnosed with thrombophelia and hospitalized with blood clots in both begs and both lungs. In 2016 Robert was sent home from deployment with a ruptured achilles and after nearly 10 months at home healing he was able to go back to work. They had then, gone through almost all of their savings and was he was cleared to redeploy they thought they would have time to replenish their emergency fund. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Robert was sent home from his last deployment rotation with a Golf ball sized tumor in the left side of his brain. He underwent four surgeries in January and February to try and kill the tumor and stop it from growing and to relieve pressure on his brain from swelling and fluid. What they did not know was that the tumor was continuing to cause problems with his memory and cognition and even with feeling and strength, and would need to be removed. On Friday July 14th, Robert underwent surgery to remove the tumor in the hopes that it would elevate some of the symptoms that he was experiencing. The surgery was supposed to last no more than 3 hours and after 6 hours of surgery his surgeon thinks he got it all. Now Robert is being sedated in the SICU and is breathing with the aide of a ventilator. While they were financially prepared for the first run of Rob being sick, they were completely unprepared this time around. For those who know him you know that Rob has far too much pride to ask for help, but they truly do need help. Mel has been a stay-at-home mom and, as of now, has been unable to work due to her own health issues as well as taking care of Rob. They are about to lose their only car and are months behind on several bills, to include some of our medical bills. The plan is to get him well enough to leave the hospital and travel back to Indiana where his family is. At this point they do not have the funds to make it. They aren't asking for the world, but do need to get him stable, maintain a home the time being and then move. Let's get this family back on their feet.
