Empathy in Action

The mission of the Empathy in Action club is to leverage our social abilities to raise capital in order to fund loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries that don’t have access to resources or the means to support themselves. As a student-run microfinance club, our goal is to enable individuals and small businesses to become self-sufficient by strategically loaning out capital. For every dollar, through successful loans, we will be able to multiply the effectiveness and help we provide by continuing to loan out that same dollar. We hope to connect back to our school’s motto “Non ut sibi ministretur sed ut ministret” (Not to be served but to serve) by raising awareness in the Taft community of microfinance in a way that brings students together under the principle of serving others and in a way that inspires social enterprise.
