Restore and Repair-Flood Relief

This site was recommended to me by a dear friend who knows our current circumstances. Initially I thought I was too proud to participate in this effort, but the reality is we are struggling, and I have been told that people want to help but don't know how. Even the smallest donation of a dollar or two could help out tremendously in reaching the goal of making our home liveable again.
Our neighborhood in Cantonment, FL recently experienced catastrophe from torrential rains exceeding 20" in 24 hours. Unfortunately, our entire home was under water for several hours, and we lost the contents and sustained extreme damage to our structure. All of these things will need to be repaired/replaced, but most of us did not carry Flood insurance as we are located in a 100 year floodplain (meaning it should never flood there). FEMA has not been released to this area because the President must declare it a national disaster, which he has not yet done. At this point, we have gotten out the soaked flooring and whatever salvageable possessions we could and are now trying to clear out the sheetrock, door jams, and anything that is likely to cause mold in preparation for treating the area (as there was a lot of sewage water in the flood). This will be a long and very expensive process, and while we are both hard working people, the unexpected and prohibitive costs are cause of great strife. We have lost our most personal possessions (photograhs, letters, family memorabilia) as well as things that CAN be replaced. Just ready to begin the restoration without additional stressors. Any small contribution will assist in making this possible. If you are not able to contribute or think it's inappropriate, I apologize and ask that you please pray for our community that we can soon be functional. Thank you and many blessings.
