It is with the heaviest of hearts I write this. On June 3rd, 2017 my beautiful and strong sister Natasha fell victim to a severe car accident. A back road in trail BC gave way to her truck, sliding it down the cliff bank and rolling the vehicle 6 times, throwing her from the vehicle. On June 4th, Natasha was flown to Vancouver General Hospital for life threatening injuries to her body and brain. After many tests and second opinions, the staff declared my beautiful, young, strong sister - brain dead.
This is the woman who over came loss, drug addiction, had a beautiful daughter, went back to school and graduated so she could become a social worker and dedicate her life to helping others. My sister is 30 years old. My sister volunteered with children and youth going though suicide, trauma and hardship - always going above and beyond for others.
My family and I are devastated. This loss is felt so deeply in our hearts and souls, we are left to make the hardest decisions of our life. No mother/father should bury their child. Never once did I think my older sister would be going this soon- too soon. At this time we are preparing her affairs, celebration of life and doing what we can as a family to be with her right until the end.
This is where I come to you my village. We need your help and support to keep my mother beside her, help with funeral costs, travel and medical costs. I have taken time off work to support my mother and family during this difficult time, and any support, prayers love would be so appreciated. If you can't help please pray for us, above all my niece Annika who is losing her mother.
And for goodness sake, just tell them you love them, our time is short here. And I beg you, wear your seat belt.
