Support Brooke in Rehabilitation & Brain Surgery

Brooke, a close family friend of mine, abruptly came home sick from a volunteer mission in Ecuador and on December 16th, the family was hit with the news that she has a large cyst (15 millimeters) on her pineal gland in her brain and needs brain surgery. 

She is experiencing severe symptoms!
When she came home she could barely speak, her eyes would not move normally, she was having very bad headaches, it’s causing hydrocephalus,  and feeling a lot of pain and pressure in the back of her head. It has taken them two months after countless doctor appointments, urgent medical assessments, EEG’s, and MRIs with and without contrast to find it. Due to the location, size, and symptoms that are causing neurological damage she needs brain surgery and to be able to have the support that she needs to recover so she can gain back her health and embrace her new normal.

How it has affected the family
This has been a very difficult time on the family. Her mother Melody immediately stopped school and work to be able to care and advocate for her daughter from the moment she came home sick. All Brooke has is her mother! They have no family around and limited community support. Unfortunately this has put the family in even greater financial need and they have not been able to keep up with their bills! 


Anyone who knows Brooke, knows her for her light, love, kindness, dedication and genuine concern and compassion towards others. Melody is the hardest working and most pure loving woman that I know, who is always willing and ready to be there for her children and to help others. They are a very special family!

**They were just told that our church is able to help in covering medical, food, and housing, but they still need help in covering more than half of the rest of their living expenses, and other medical incidentals that will not be covered such as necessary travel.
