Medical Bills

Hi everyone! On November 17, 2013, me and my husband were blessed with our first boy, Benjamin Alenxander Santizo. This was the happiest day of our lives, but we were right away met with some challenges. Benjamin was born premature, and because of this, he was left in the hospital for two weeks due to breathing and developmental issues, amongst a few other things that we have had to deal with. Bringing him home was such a relief, but the challenges did'nt end there. Upon coming home, Benjamin has to now see a specialty doctor (developmental doctor) every 3 months until he is 3 and every 6 months after that. His cognitive and motor skills are still not where they should be but he is progressing. For the past few months, he has also been dealing with really bad eczema that causes him to bleed and be very uncomfortable. But my boy always has a smile on his face! But now the biggest challenge we face. on 5/1/2014, Benjamin went to see a specialty doctor for his head. He was diagnosed with Torticollis. The back of his head is too flat, therefore requiring him to get a special helmet made for his condition. Not having this helmet can cause disfiguration in his face, neck problems and so forth, according to his doctor. The problem we face, my insurance will only cover a percentage, leaving us with a balance of $2,000. Benjamin has his next appointment in two weeks to get fitted for the helmet, in which we would need to leave $200 down. This has been challenging for us, in many ways. Having three kids and having one that requires more attention than the rest can take a toll physically, emotionally and mentally. Due to our current financial status, its been a question of whether or not we can even pay for baby Benji's helmet. So I created this page to ask for help. I am one to do things on my own, but in this case I can't, and its taken me to break down my walls to ask for help. I do not want my boy to not receive the help he needs because financially we cannot provide the help for him. I want to offer our sincerest gratitude in advance for your help. Any mother, parent for that matter whats their child to grow up to be healthy and happy and thats all we want for our lil' man. So thank you again, we truly do appreciate it. XO'
