As many of you know, we lost one of the greatest this week when our friend, Roland Sigurdson (aka "Moose"), passed away suddenly.
"It was intended to honor the best all-around HS theatre student, a student who realized that theatre is more than just being on-stage or the chair of the lighting crew. A true theatre student knows that every person who works on a production is important. The show doesn't go on and succeed without the efforts of so many talented people. When we applaud and support everyone who works on a production, we truly honor a brilliant show. Roland knew this and was supportive of everyone who worked on a theatrical production. To be awarded the Moose Award should be a prestigious honor. ... I know that the Moose award has been awarded many times since he left CISH. It would be great if they still continued it."
We, the friends and fans of Roland, would like to ressurect and enhance the Moose Award for CIHS Theatre Students. We are gratified that Roland's family supports this effort. In the coming days, we will be speaking with CIHS administration and faculty to get the ball rolling on making it official and working out the details.
To that end, we would like to establish a fund that will be the seed money for a theatre arts scholarship in Roland's name. We have set the initial goal at $1,000, but the more money we raise, the more options and longterm momentum we have.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for giving to this cause in honor of a truly honorable man.
