Laboy Flood Relief

On April 30, heavy rains and poor sewage systems overflowed our neighborhood and home. As we were preparing to end our night, water started to come into our apartment. Thinking it wasn't going to be too bad, since hurricane sandy wasn't, we decided to stay and try to keep up with the flow of water. As time passed and the rain continued to come down harder, the flow became stronger and the water came from the tub the drain the garage and the front door. Seeing that we couldn't do anymore, we grabbed our two and a half year old daughter and anything we could and got out in time before the water covered our electrical sockets. And to make matters worse, our landlord doesnt have insurance to cover the damages. We are very thankful that our family is safe but now we have nothing. We not only lost our home but we lost everything we own (our clothes, furniture/bed, toys). Our photos are ruined and are now left with just our memories. Since we no longer have an apartment, we have to go to a shelter. Our goal with this money is to find a new place to live and try to replace some of the things we lost. We appreciate any and every donation. Here are some photos of the flood and the aftermath
