The Holistic Approach to Redefining Cancer

Hi there, we are Cary, and Jack. We want to tell you about Kay and our project “ The Holistic Approach to Redefining Cancer”

My Mums story with cancer inspired me, Cary, an holistic counselor, to investigate and write a book about ‘how’ and ‘why’ she was able to survive, recover and remain in constant remission from an advanced stage of IgG kappa myeloma, an incurable, reoccurring cancer; an illness defined by doctors as a chronic disease that can only be controlled, although not cured, with drugs. When her oncologist was asked how it was possible to be well into her 14th year of remission without ever relapsing, her doctor’s only answer was, “Well, Kay, you’re very lucky!”

Disease and physical suffering are common to us all, and in the light of recent biological discoveries and studies, self-healing from an incurable cancer is far from being a stroke of luck, it is the result of a deep connection between the mind body and spirit.

As her daughter and grandson we are very passionate about her ability to humbly surrender to the changes cancer was asking her to make and, that is what our project is all about, sharing Kay’s holistic experience with others, not just by reading a book but by being able to attend a 2 day workshop which puts into practice her inspirational journey of self-healing.
