*UPDATE*

Hi! I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts and tell each and every one of you how grateful we are to have you in our lives.  The outpouring of love and support you have shown our family has been overwhelming but truly amazing.  You have touched our hearts.

We are so excited to announce that we have started to rebuild our home and we hope to be complete in the next couple of months.  The drywall was delivered yesterday and should be installed shortly. FEMA has also given us a grant.  GOD has been so good to us and through this dark time HE has shown us light.  May the Lord bless you and your family.  Martin and I are honored to have such amazing family and friends.

Love, The Stephens  “Martin, Jen, Ethan and Henry”

PS. Mandy!! We thank you for all your hardwork, time and effort you put in to helping us.  I am forever indebted to you!  LOVE YOU

Hey Y'all!  Our close friends, Jen & Martin Stephens, need our help!!!  The storms that rolled through Pensacola flooded their home and destroyed pretty much everything they own.

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at about 10pm they noticed some water trickling in the doors. Within an hour they were wading in water up to their knees. They eventually had to climb on top of their entertainment center and sit on a plant ledge to get out of the water which had risen to about 5 feet.  They did all of this while taking care of their 4 year old son Ethan and their 10 month old son Henry.

At 2am, they were rescued by boat.  They had to submerge both of their sweet boys and themselves through a window in murky, stormy waters to get to the boat.  Thankfully, the whole family is safe and healthy.  However, because this happened so fast, they literally got out of the house with the clothes on their back and nothing more.  Also, their home is not located in a flood zone and so they do not have flood insurance.  Sheet rock will need to be replaced, flooring, cabinets and countertops, furniture, mattresses, bedding, curtains, house hold items, food, appliances, clothing, shoes, dirt and grass, fencing,  personal everyday items, and also cars... the list goes on and on. To make matters worse, they spoke to FEMA this morning and it looks like there won't be any assistance given.

Anyone that personally knows this precious family can attest to how wonderful and sweet they are.  They have been through a lot in the past few years.  They have stayed strong and overcome so much.  It is heartbreaking for them to have to face another devastation.

Please, do what you can to help this family so they can get back into their home as soon as possible.  ANYTHING you can do will be so appreciated.  Please share this with everyone!  They are already overwhelmed by the support friends and family are giving.  Let's knock their socks off and show them how much we love and care and support their recovery!

Thank you so much!!!
