Burkina Faso Mission Trip

Hi Family and Friends! Many of you may already know this about me, but for those of you who may not"”I have a big heart for Africa and its people. Four years ago while I was studying for my master's degree in England, I had the amazing opportunity of taking my first trip to Africa which completely changed my life and captured a piece of my heart. Upon returning to the States I knew it would only be a matter of time before I would be going back. However, with my doctoral studies at the University of Missouri, the opportunity to return was delayed. In addition, I knew I needed to grow in the Lord. Now, four years later after many adventures and growing experiences, God is making a way for my return and I'm not doing it alone!
A few months ago, the missions pastor at church approached me about taking over and leading a mission trip to Burkina Faso in West Africa. We have the dates set to go back to Burkina Faso for July 7-22. While we are over there we will be staying at the Sheltering Wings Orphanage. There we will be loving and caring for children, along with participating in their many ministry opportunities such as the medical clinic, widow's distribution, and their schools. This trip is going to be a great chance for growth within the team as well as a blessing to those in Burkina Faso. I'm so excited to see all that God is going to do in and through this time but I can't do it alone! By walking out in faith, I am completely trusting God to provide for all of my needs. Two of the biggest needs being prayer and finances. This trip is going to be quite expensive due to the time of year we are traveling. However, I believe that God has worked everything out for a reason! In order for this mission to be possible, I need help in raising money. My goal is to raise $1,800 for this trip so any donation small or large will help me tremendously! However, more importantly, please pray for this cause and that God will sustain us as we go and do His will in Burkina Faso. If everyone can commit to praying for me during these next few months and while we are abroad that would be so greatly appreciated!-Katy
