Summer Camp & Special Stroller for DYLAN

Being the single mother of a special needs child is by far the HARDEST job I could've ever been given! It has challenges...yet accomplishments, tears...yet lots of smiles, a feeling of loneliness...yet an awesome support system and SO much more. Anyone who's met Dylan or hears me speak of him knows he's an active, vivacious, bubbly, independent, fighter who lights up a room when he walks in! He's had more struggles in his 6 years of life than I've had in my 29. I decided to do this page because finding childcare for special needs kids can be a challenge. You want someone who has passion, patience and the skills to treat your child with the care you give. Non verbal kids like Dylan can't complain to me when he's not treatly fairly, so I have to use my motherly instincts. I have found a summer camp that I would love for Dylan to attend! They cater specifically to kids with special needs, as the owners have a son with Downs Syndrome, and they absolutely love Dylan. Caring for kids with special needs is a tough job, and the fee for the two sessions during the summer is $1800.00 (ouch). Any donation to help me send Dylan to a camp where I feel he will be safe and treated with care will be greatly appreciated!!

The additional $500 set as a target goal is for Dylan to get a new stroller! Dylan is a big boy...70+ lbs to be exact and he loves to be outside playing, but it's hard for me to keep up with Dylan, and he gets tired of walking for long distances. Because he is older and weighs a lot, he needs a stroller made specially for kids with challenges who have outgrown the standard size stroller. These strollers for special needs kids start at $500.00 and I would love to get one for Dylan so he can play and enjoy the weather like most six year olds.
