If you know my friend Lorie Baumgarner you know she would give you the shirt off her back and never think twice . She is the most selfless person I have ever met in my life. She will do anything for anyone and never asks for anything in return. She is the reason I ever started doing fundraising for local people in need. Now she is in need. I am asking from the bottom of my heart for anyone to help. She is in great need and it is urgent and she needs the funds quickly. Her Victorian Bulldog Ollie had ACL surgery on July 31st and she had taken out a small loan for $4,000 to have this done. Now today she posted this on her facebook....
I'm heart broken to say the least. We came home from vacation and Ollie just wasn't acting right. We woke up today to find blood all over the living room. We thought he was bleeding from the rectum. We took him to the Doggie ER near Pittsburgh early this morning.
We found out the blood was coming from his penis. His bladder and prostate is enlarged. When they tried to cath him to give him some relief, all they got was hard resistance. They performed an abdominal US/X-ray that showed stones blocking the urethra. They are taking him back to do labs and put him under general anesthesia to cath him enough to give his bladder some relief. We will drive up in the morning to have him transferred to our vet in Hookstown for the surgery. That poor little guy just needs a break. We leave with tears in our eyes having to leave him here until tomorrow.
So he needs to have surgery to reroute his urethra then he will also need to have the stones taken out and be neutered. All together she is looking at another over $6,000 in addion to the $4,000 they have already taken out for the first surgery.
The surgeon comes in tomorrow and I feel like if we show we are trying to pull the funds together to get this done they will go ahead with the surgery. Please help. Even if it's just $5. Anything may help save this awesome dog's life so that she doesn't have to put him down because that is the other option. No one wants to put their dog to sleep if there is a chance it can be saved.
