21 for 21--Kaitlin's trip to Uganda

April 30, 2014 is our amazing sister Kaitlin Grant's 21st birthday! We wanted to invite you to celebrate with us in a "virtual birthday party!" Kaitlin is returning to Uganda this summer to intern at Good Shepherd's Fold orphanage for two months. Kaitlin still needs to raise $1,500 so we are asking you to consider giving $21 in honor of her 21st birthday to help her reach her goal and get to Uganda!

Kaitlin is a Family and Human Services major, so this internship will allow her to work with the social worker at GSF and learn what social work looks like in Uganda. She will also be partnered with one or two children at GSF with special needs who she will get to work with on a daily basis. An added bonus is that GSF is where Betty lives (the little girl Kaitlin sponsors), and so she will get to spend the whole summer with her!

Kaitlin is finishing her junior year at John Brown University. She has a strong desire to learn how to most effectively help and empower people while being fueled by compassion and empathy. After visiting GSF briefly in 2012, Kaitlin knows that they do this well and is excited to serve and learn from them.
