When 140 Million Americans are poor or living with low-wages, in the wealthiest country ever to exist, it's time for systemic change.
In 1968, Dr. MLK Jr. started the first Poor People's Campaign to spark a radical revolution of values across the nation. The vision of the Campaign was to build a mass movement beyond the scope of anything the country had seen, but in the days before the first mobilization King was assassinated. Now 50 years later it is time to make King's Dream a reality.
The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is picking up where King left off 50 years ago. We are building a movement with the sweeping goals of toppling, racism, poverty, militarism, and environmental destruction and we need you to build it with us.
This whole campaign has is being built by donations and folks giving their gifts in whatever way they can. Thank you for making this movement with us!
The funds being raised are to get PPC leaders and impacted people to the PPC Moral Action Congress from June 17-19 . The congress will gather hundreds from over 40 states. It will bring members and advocates back to our nations capital to return our national conversation to the moral center of who we are as a nation and democracy. In 2016 not one single question in 25 debates was asked about poverty or systemic racism. The congress will set the stage to make sure the 140 million poor and low income people in this country are part of the national conversation in 2020.
Please donate much needed funds to make our goals possible.
