Sonja Peterson benefit fund

On April 16th, 2014, a week after having abdominal surgery, Sonja Peterson had a massive stroke/brain aneurysm. Having had recent abdominal surgery she was unable to have the clot busting medication. The doctors notified her family that she was in critical condition and may not make it the first 72hours. During that 72 hours Sonja was in severe pain and unable to have any pain medications due to the sedative effects the medications would have. Being the fighter Sonja is she pushed through the first 72 hours like a champ. The swelling in her brain went down and the bleeding had stopped. The stroke affected the left side of her body. Sonja currently has left arm and hand paralysis, facial numbness and drooping, concentration problems as well as other cognitive issues. The prognosis looks good but doctors are unable to say how much of the loss will come back. Sonja is currently at Sacred Heart Hospital in inpatient rehab. She is expected to go home on June 5th but will be unable to stay home alone for 6-12months.
This event has been life changing not only for Sonja but her family as well. Sonja is the mother to a beautiful 7 year old daughter named Gabrielle and a wife to her husband Don. Don has had to continue working to bring an income into the home. Her mother moved from northern Minnesota to stay with Don and Gabrielle. Also her sister drives from the twin cities every weekend to help out.
The medical bills have been piling high from not only the stroke but also Sonjas first surgery. The family has an out of pocket maximum at $5000. Along with the medical bills the family also has to move as their current home is not safe for Sonja to live in with her current paralysis and cognitive issues. At this time they are unable to afford a deposit on a new home to rent.

Any contribution to help out is highly appreciated and definitely needed.
There is also an account set up at Wells Fargo.  It is the Sonja Peterson Benefit fund and you can go to any Wells Fargo and they can deposit into that account for no fee.
