Mowgli was poisoned!!!!!
I work at a small dog daycare in Seattle and we have the best clients,  they are all like family to each other.  One of our client's dogs was rushed to the emergency vet yesterday afternoon... this was what his owner Bridgett posted-  "Today Mowgli was rushed to the emergency vet clinic in Shoreline by my dog walker after he was vomiting, had diarrhea was lethargic and unresponsive. The vet had blood tests and xrays done, pumped him with fluids and an ultra sound where they found fluid in his belly. We were afraid it was bowel fluid. The vet tested the fluid and it was blood. They wanted to do surgery right away to figure out what the bleeding was from. Once they opened him up they found a blood clot and realized his blood wasn't clotting. They removed the blood clot and he's now getting a plasma transfusion to help his blood to clot. The vet said he was poisoned with rat bait. Mowgli isn't quite in the clear yet. I should get word later tonight . I'm not sure how Mowgli got a hold of rat bait but I wanted to share his story because I wouldn't wish this day on any dog owner. So please, please keep a close eye on your dogs when out walking."
Bridgett is my friend and like me is a single "mother" to her dog and he is very important to her.  When the vet said it's surgery or euthanasia she imediately took out every credit card she had and said "do the surgery".  As you can see the care got more involved than just surgery and the expenses added up.  Bridgett has applied for Care Credit now and that will help some (no interest for 6 months if paid off by then)  but she is really in need of some help paying for the rest...    As of now , the day after this all happened , Mowgli seems to be trying to stablize and if he can get his blood pressure back to normal and start eating again he can finally go home but the costs are mounting.  I've always joked that nothing could take Mowgli down-  he is a little brat always playing with any dog that will wrestle with him and he is tough as nails but this  was something I never considered.  I just hope I'm right and this won't take him down.    He's her baby and I unfortunately know how it feels to lose a fuzzy kid.  It's heartbreaking.  Any donations would be so very helpful to keep my friend afloat after this horrible tragedy , even just a dollar helps!
If you can pass this on to your dog lover friends it would be appreciated and keep Mowgli and Bridgett in your thoughts for a full recovery.   Thank you all!!!!
