Helping with Rita’s recovery!!

One week ago today my little sister Rita (27) who is 11wks pregnant and already has Daniel (1) with her loving husband Gil was taken to the ER Virtua Hospital in Voorhees where there was negligence on their part. She was having migraines and her right leg went numb but they released her the same day because they said it was symptoms due to the pregnancy. Tuesday morning at 4am Rita suffered a stroke and she lost full control of the right side of her body and started slurring her words! Again Gil took her to the ER at Virtua where this time they correctly diagnosed her. They admitted her right away and Weds. at 1am she suffered a seizure which really took a toll on her brain. At 5am Rita was transferred to Jefferson Hospital in the Neuro ICU because Virtua could not handle her condition! She was not making any sense and she was unaware of what was going on! For a couple days she was barely able to communicate. Jefferson Drs said she has a large blood clot on the left side of her brain and it was not looking good for her to survive this but they will do everything they can! They already started her on several medications that are not supposed to have any effect on the baby but she has had several MRI's and CT scans which can be harmful! They did another MRI on Thursday and it showed swelling on the brain has gone down. Friday she started talking and even started to move her elbow but Friday night she started slurring her words and her arm went completely numb again! They did a CT scan and it showed the blood clot moved. The Drs were not too concerned because she did not have another seizure but the biggest concern is her blood pressure drops dangerously low when she sleeps! Saturday she was again aware and talking, they started her on physical therapy and she was finally moved out of the Neuro ICU! Unfortunately this has come at a tough time because her health insurance does not start till March. When Rita gets out of the hospital the medication alone that she needs will be close to $2,000 and she will need physical therapy to try and regain strength on the right side of her body! It truly is a Miracle for her to be where she is at right now but Rita and her husband have a long road ahead of them especially worrying about their little one Daniel and their 11wk old unborn child! Daniel is missing his Mommy and Daddy! We want to Thank all our friends, family and brothers and sisters in the Lord that have been praying continuously through this week!
