The ChessTutors College Scholarship Fund
Your child's school, Anza or Linwood-Howe, won first or second place respectively in our 2013 GMG Tournament of Champions. As one of 9 first place winners and one of 12 second place winners, your child is entitled to a percentage of all scholarship moneys raised for the winning teams. These percentages were outlined in our College Scholarship Letter that each victor received at last year GMG.
The Young Kings and Queens Tournament, our first official fundraiser for the scholarship fund, was a huge success. You'll be encouraged to know that after expenses"”administration, flyers, supplies, color printouts, banners, photography and lastly the awards (trophies, medals and crowns), we raised $1927.
Most recently we have set up this GoFundMe account & website to raise additional financing for your child's 2013 scholarship fund. We encourage all of our Chess Tutor parents to research and inquire as to their employer's charitable contribution interests and parameters and to explore their company's policy on the matching of funds for a college scholarship trust. No doubt, many parents may be pleasantly surprised to learn their company has such a policy. Furthermore, we encourage you to invite your friends, family & colleagues to send a message of support to the victors by contributing to this worthy cause.
We will promote and celebrate all of our contributors at the college scholarship distribution ceremony at respective schools the first or second week of June 2014 (Date TBA).
100% of the proceeds that accrue to this page through June 1st, 2014 will be disbursed per the attached college scholarship promissory letter to the Anza & Linwood Howe 2013 GMG victors.
This gives us a little less than four weeks to raise as much money as possible on behalf of our hard-working young scholars.
We know that we set the fundraising goal very high this year, we figured no one rises to low expectation. Now let's go make this fundraising drive a rousing success!
Sincerely,
The Chess Tutors Team
