Help save baby Jhett - support his brain surgery

Donation protected
Update 26/5/20 Jhett had his Brain Tumour Surgery on 23/3/20 in Sydney with Professor Charlie Teo. The aim was a Biopsy and resection to the safest point without giving Jhett to many deficits with the unknown of exact type/grade until biopsy was sent off. Charlie was able to get approx 20%. The Biopsy has came back that Jhett has a Grade 1 Ganglio Glioma and this is on his Brainstem wich is EXTREMELY RARE. The Brainstem is classified a NO GO ZONE. We have had our follow up Consult with Professor Charlie Teo and he has highly recomended Jhett has to have Radical Brain Surgery to remove nothing less than 95% of the Tumour in order to SAVE HIS LIFE. Now we have to decide if we are going to put Jhett through the Radical Surgery. By doing surgery Jhett will potentially have life long deficits and will probably need to learn how to talk, walk, eat ,swallow ,breathe etc again with years of rehab so basically taking the awesome quality of life he currently has away from him in order to SAVE HIS LIFE. If we dont do surgery it will continue to grow and eventually take his life but as its rare we dont know how many years. It has been suggested approximately 2 to 5 years. Chemo and Radiation is not a option for a grade 1 Ganglio Glioma. We have a couple months to make the biggest desicion of our lives. We would like to sincerely thank each and everyone that has donated, shared and showed love and support for our son Jhett. We will be closing this Go-Fund me page on 31/5/20. So pending on the decision we Stacy Edwards and Ben Corpus ( Jhetts parents ) will most likely be starting another GoFundMe page for Jhett in the very near future. Much love to you all and THANKYOU again.xoxo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My name is Jodi and I’ve put this GoFundMe together to help my brother and his partner, to help them with the costs associated with their baby boy Jhett and the life saving brain surgery that he needs, as a matter of urgency!! So you know the urgency and the details of what’s going on, words from Jhett’s parents - Daddy, Ben Corpus and Mummy Stacy Edwards: Jhett had an MRI on 7 Feb 2020, which showed a glioma tumor. The day after his 3rd birthday. The news has rocked our families hard. It’s news that no parent wants to hear about anyone, let alone their baby.  Jhett was then was admitted to the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s hospital under neurosurgery for MRI brain stealth, followed by stealth guided transcerebellar bh biopsy (medullary) tumour biopsy. He was admitted to the ICU after and recovered well being discharged on 24 Feb 2020. During the biopsy there were multiple technical issues which resulted in only an extremely small specimen sample that has not been successful to help make treatment plan. The neurosurgy team then decided the only way to have a higher chance of getting the biopsy sample was to do open brain medullary tumour surgery biopsy. On our 3 year old.  This was planned for 6 March 2020, but Jhett came down with a cold/virus which then cancelled surgery as it was to high a risk.  Since then, Stacy and myself have written to and heard back from Dr Charlie Teo office; he is willing to take on Jhett’s case and proceed with surgery to remove a portion if not all of the tumor, however he cant guarantee how much until he is actually doing the operation. Dr Charlie Teo is world renowned and a life changing steady hand in the world of brain surgery and we feel that he is the very best option for our baby boy, who has so much more life to live. Stacy and I want to give Jhett the best chance to beat this and live his long beautiful life. So please share our story. We desperately need your help to raise the money to cover the costs associated with Jhett’s surgery. You are appreciated!! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
