Help Moses visit his homeland

My name is Moses Dut and I live in Seattle, Washington. I work at the historic Smith Tower in downtown Seattle and go to school at night and on weekends as well. This is my second year at South Seattle College pursuing my Associate degree in Public Relations. I expect this will take me four years to reach my goal. When I graduate, my desire is to work with people from all over the world.  I have come a long way and would like to share my life experiences with others.

I was born and raised in South Sudan in the village known as Marial Baai.  My Country is the youngest nation in Africa and the world at large since it seceded in 2011 from Sudan.  I am one of the "Lost Boys of South Sudan" who were driven out of our country during the long civil war in which 2.2 million lives were lost and hundreds of thousands of people fled Sudan. My family and my village were part of that genocide.  I lost my eldest brother in that war and many cousins and friends were also killed. I came to the U.S in May 2001 when some of the Lost Boys were given refuge in the United States.

But before I was given this opportunity to come to the U.S, I walked over 1,000 miles barefoot and with nothing but the clothes on my back, across the desert to Ethiopia, then back to South Sudan and then to Kenya. I have swum the crocodile-infested Gelo River while being shot at, surviving through the will of God, the Almighty Father while others around me did not survive.   To make my long story short though, I have never been in this kind of situation before.  I have to come out openly and ask for help. I hope there are people of good faith out there that will understand my situation!  I need help to get home to see my family, my mother and my children, Leek and Dut who are 5 and 4 years old who I have not seen in over 2 years. I have earned vacation time at work but cannot afford to buy a plane ticket.  I have shortages of my budget due to many responsibilities I am taking care of. I am paying my school fees this quarter and next quarter because I missed the financial deadline. I am also paying school fees for my two boys.

The flight from Seattle to Nairobi is 18hrs and from Nairobi to South Sudan is another 2hrs.  From Juba to Marial Baai is another 3hrs. I already saved $2,000, so my goal is to raise another $3,000.  The two way ticket is about $1,800 and another $300 to South Sudan and another $500 two ways to my village.  I am very concerned about the current situation in South Sudan and my family's safety in particular.  While I am there, I would like to be able to take care of some basic needs for them like food and clothes and medicine.  Your consideration and open heart and your support are appreciated in advanc
