Send Joseph Wang to College in China!

Please join us in helping Joseph Wang get a college degree.

I had the privilege to meet Joseph in Shangri-la, where he was working at the Inn I was staying.  Another guest, Rona, from Israel, also noticed this extraordinary young man, and we learned that it would cost about $2000 per year for Josepsh to attend college (room, board, tuition, books, etc.).

We decided to make his dream-come-true.  Here is his his story:

My Chinese name is Wang Shi Cong (王诗聪 )I'm 22 years old and I come from Chongqing.

When I was six-years-old I had an accident, and lost most of my fingers on my right hand. It changed my life, as I became disabled.

In school, I felt dispirited and ashamed, until I was 17 and met some foreign students in our town. I became very interested in them and their culture. That was my first time and first step towards learning English!

Since then I have been very passionate and interested in learning English, and Western culture. Unfortunately my father could not afford university tuition, so I had to give up school, and find work. In China, the salary for a high school graduate, is only enough for a living. So it's very difficult to save enough money to get back to school.

One of my biggest dreams is go to university and get a Bachelor's degree. I really want to go to Sichuan International Studies University, and major in English for a four-year bachelors degree.

I so appreciate that you can help my dream come true!
