Fundraiser for a friend

I have a Senior friend who is going through a very hard time. He lost his job last year because of health problems and now can no longer work. He worked for the same company for almost three decades and because he had to stay in the hospital for awhile and spend time recovering, they fired him.  As time went on, his health severely declined and now he is not able to drive or work and needs assistance to walk safely.

Between rent for a very small studio apartment, transportation to medical and essential appointments, medicine and food, his social security payment is completely depleted and he could  likely be homeless soon.

I have chosen to not identify my friend so I understand that this may sound fishy but know that I have known this person for 45 years. He is a kind and good human. He would give anyone help if he had resources but now the table is turned.

We have looked into community resources for him but there is no help yet. We will try to find some long term help for him but for now,  for his mental and physical health, we are trying to pay off some back rent so he doesn’t have the threat of eviction hanging over his head and he will have money for 
transportation, medicine, and food.
