December 3, 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma. 3 days later I had a Lymph angiogram to see if the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. (They injected this radiation stuff into my back 4 times and then scanned where my lymph nodes are to see where the dye went, to decide which lymph nodes if any they would take) Later that day I had my mole removed along with 3 of my lymph nodes to check them for cancer as well? Luckily my lymph nodes came back cancer free and my diagnosis went from stage 4 to a stage 2!!!
I now have to see my dermatologist every 3 months to check every mole on my body. I also have to see an oncologist every 3 months for blood work, chest x-rays and to check on my overall health. With this I have to pay $45 a visit to have these checkups on top of all the medical bills that are coming in (on top of helping my husband support our family). I have had a PET scan (that bill is still pending ($6200) due to my insurance stating it wasn't necessary. I think after getting cancer scanning my whole body for more cancer is kind of important). I have had to have ultra sounds, CT Scans, other moles removed, blood tests, x-rays, etc. etc. This will be a never ending cycle for me.
I currently have 6 different places that I owe money to totaling around $2200 (excluding the pending $6200). If you are someone who knows me really well I do not like to ask for help. And feel horrible asking for money. But the stress and worry is wearing me down and I need help.
Anything that you can donate would be so helpful. I would be forever in your debt if you can help at all.
