At work on January 14, 2014, my 34 year old cousin Allison collapsed because of severe Ventricullar Fibrillation (v-fib). Only 5% of people survive these attacks! Amazingly, her step daughter (who is a licensed EMT) randomly came to her work to surprise her for lunch at the time this took place. She saved her life by immediately initiating CPR until paramedics arrived. The paramedics were unable to stabilize her until she got to the hospital. She was put into a medically induced coma for 6 weeks. During this time, her condition was life threatening. She was placed on a respirator and had feeding and chest tubes. After many weeks, she began to breathe on her own. Eventually, after rehabilitation- she was able to come home! She is currently awaiting surgery to implant a difribilator, to insure this doesn't happen again.
In the meantime, she had been out of work for months and will not be able to return for several more. We are raising money to help her with her medical bills and daily living expenses.
