Nairobi Medical Mission Trip

I have been asked to participate in a Medical Mission to Nairobi, Kenya. I am very grateful and excited to be able to use my skills as a Peds RN and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Many young girls and women in Nairobi unfortunately, experience Rape on a consistent basis. I will primarily be focusing on the assaulted individual as well as providing medical care to children, and assisting with minor surgeries.
A little background..I will be leaving Sept 5th 2014 for 2 weeks :) landing in Nairobi, and serving in one of the most desolate villages....where just having toilet paper or fresh water is a luxury. Our clinic will be set up in a school in this village...much like the size of a small Starbucks, where there can be up to 900 children trying to learn. We will be staying in a hotel nearby..which is likened to a Motel 6 on a good day. We will have guards with us for safety, as well as very respected Social Workers, who are saviors to the people of these villages.
As you can imagine, the cost of this mission is very high, (incl. about 500.00 worth of vaccinations for myself, and prophylactic Malaria pills) eek!!... I would absolutely appreciate any monetary donations from the bottom of my heart!! I am looking forward to using my skills and big heart to help the people that live in these unsafe and unhealthy villages. You can donate to this site..or send to:
