Missions trips- South Africa & Japan

Update: The South Africa trip has been delayed until Aug 23 because we are waiting for the roof to be put on the building.
Last year, God rocked my world in Honduras. He provided for that trip in such amazing ways, but He also made an impression on my heart that will not go away. I've always had a desire to travel, to see the world, but He's refined the desire to go and share His love to others. These last couple months, I've felt the nudge again to go. Not for me, but for what He wants to do. Jesus told us to "go into all the world and preach the gospel."
I have spent much of the last two years in practical training- through ministering to the homeless on the streets of Fort Worth, volunteering with the singles ministrym, stepping out on my first mission trip to Honduras. I've also spent time in training in discipleship, prophetic and freedom ministries. I know it is not just for sitting at a desk all day, every day, even though God has certainly put people in my path at work to minister to. There is more for me to do outside the walls of even the church.
Some of you heard about me being selected to go on a mission trip to Japan which will take place in October. But, I also have an opportunity to go to South Africa this summer. I was kicking around the idea but hadn't committed, mainly because of fear- fear of the funding, fear of being physically and spiritually ready, but courage is moving forward in spite of fear, right? His message to me all week has been "be strong and courageous!" I finally started listening when someone came up to me yesterday and asked if I still had time to register for South Africa, I said yes. They told me they were giving me $100 because they want to see me go. So, when we delay, God can give us the kick we need to get moving. If someone else believes in me that much, not to mention God, I need to start believing too! So here goes...
In South Africa, I will be going with Dunamis Connections. On this trip, we will be completing the construction of a multipurpose building in the village of Shiamani. My focus on the trip, and that of the women on the trip, will be building relationships and ministering to the women and children of the village. http://www.dunamisconnections.org/
On the Japan trip, which is sponsored by Gateway Church's Pink Ministry, we will be partnering with a local church to pour into women leaders in Tokyo. We hope to put on a one-day women's conference while we are there, but all the details are still being worked out. http://global.gatewaypeople.com/
If you know me, you know my heart is for people, for being the hands and feet of Jesus in this world. I love people. I love to see God move in the hearts of people. To see someone's eyes come to life with the revelation of Jesus' love for them is amazing!
Prayer is the most important need. Please add me, the teams going to your prayer list. We will need covering for protection, provision and for divine appointments. I will keep you posted with specific prayer needs.
Because of the time-frame and when payments are needed, I decided to combine the two mission trips into one fundraising effort. I've already received some funding for both trips. I still need $3,000 for South Africa and $2,600 for Japan.
In order to secure my spot for South Africa, I need an additional $1400 by May 15. This is my first goal. I will need the remaining $1600 by about June 15.
Once South Africa is secure, I will focus on the remaining funds for Japan.
