Team Jake- Big Hearts Annual Walk
Tax deductible
Big Hearts to Little Hearts raises awareness and funding for the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia Cardiac unit, benefiting children born with Congenital Heart Disease.
My son Jake is 1 in 100 children born every year with a heart defect. On October 4th, 2010 Jake was diagnosed at 4 weeks of age with a rare congenital heart defect known as ALCAPA. He had emergency open heart surgery the very next day at CHildren's Hospital of Philadelphia. The road to recovery was a long one, and Jake will never be "cured", but I am happy and fortunate to say that Jake is a strong, smart, beautiful 5 year old boy now who loves the color orange, playing Super Mario Brothers, and spending time with his older sister Addison! He will be starting kindergarten in the fall!
After Jake's recovery I wanted to give back to the hospital that saved his life. Big Hearts to Little Hearts welcomed me with open arms and I have been a committee member of this non profit organization since 2011.
On Sunday, September 27th we will be hosting our 8th annual walk along the beautiful Manasquan boardwalk. Registration begins at 9am. Walk begins at 10am at Leggetts Sand Bar 217 1st Ave., Manasquan. Please join us or make a donation to help the littlest heart patients! We couldn't do this without you! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
